Max Westwell as ‘eccentric conductor’ in Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra 2002 photo: Peter Teigen NYB was well represented at the recent Young Dancer of the Year competition held at The Linbury Theatre, Covent Garden. Three of NYB’s lead dancers in 2002, excelled. Carrie Johnson was placed third, Tyrone Singleton was commended, and Max Westwell a finalist. All three dancers attend Arts Educational School, Tring. Max wrote to NYB to say how much confidence and professional help his experience performing with NYB contributed to his belief in himself. Young dancer, Antoinette Brooks-Daw, placed second, is currently at The Royal Ballet School. Many ‘Friends’ may recall Antoinette dancing NYB’s ‘Little Alice’ in Wayne Sleep’s ‘Wonderland - Scenes from Alice’ back in 1998.
